Creating a new folder in here called "Data" - Putting all of the files/folders from one mod into that new Data folder (this is where you may want to only do one at a time- if multiple mods use the same folder, separating these manually can be tedious and has a lot of room for error) - Right clicking the Data folder (> "show more options" if you're on win11), and selecting "add to archive" (name the archive something that's Not "Data") - Dragging that archive to your Downloads section - Deleting that archive and the contents of the Data folder from your Overwrite - Continue until all mods have been manually installed You can technically add all of these to a single mod, but having several will make it easier to sort. If you have several, select "Open in Explorer" so you can see all their files. If you only have one mod, simply select "Create New Mod" - Make sure you activate the plugins as well- If this is what you do, you're already finished! The method I use to make multiple mods at once involves using a program like 7Zip or WinRAR, but neither are necessary.Īdd the bethesda net mod to your game the intended way- you can add to your library through the site or in-game, but you can only download and install through the "Mod" section in the actual game. (For vortex users, since that program installs stuff directly to your Actual game's data folders anyways, I do not want to offer advice on it- If anyone has advice on doing this with vortex feel free, but I am a certified vortex hater and can only offer the warning to consider messing with your Data folder only if you like breaking your game)Įdited to streamline the process and to avoid accidental mishaps with Bethesda net and how horrid it is LOLĪdd your mod on - most mods are simple enough that you can activate multiple at once, but if you do that and struggle with the next steps because of confusing file structure, consider doing this only one or two mods at a time. If you try to remove these any other way, you confuse the game a little, and it can break things. Re-Open your game, open up the Mods menu again, and DELETE the mods you've installed.

This is your mod.ĭrag the zip file directly into your Downloads and install like you would any other mod. By default, this is Program Files > Steam > Steamapps > Common >. You can install as many as you like, but if you're doing many at once, I highly recommend writing a list. My apologies if this method is considered common knowledge, but a lot of the responses I found to questions about bethesda net have been "just use nexus 5head" which unfortunately is not always an option. This method also works for Skyrim/SSE, but I have yet to encounter this specific issue in Skyrim modding, versus it seems several well-known FO4 mods have been moved to bethesda net. I tried googling this to no avail, so after figuring it out, I decided to post the process here, so if others look this up, hopefully they will find this! This is vaguely outlined in the new page for Creative Clutter, which was recently removed from Nexus, but I wasn't able to find this without happening to find that page manually, and even that method is Not what I personally would choose.
